Home made Sushi!

The other day when we were at Borders Bookstore(our home away from home), Jocelyn was searching what to buy with her gift card. She received one on her birthday last September, and has been searching for that something special to buy ever since. She came across a Sushi making kit. She was so excited to finally find something.

I was kinda not looking forward to making these things, for fear it wouldn't taste or look like the ones we get at the restaurant. Jocelyn is very sensitive and I was worried that she would be very disappointed. I am so glad she got it. The first ones weren't very pretty, but tasted just like the restaurants:) We made several sushi rolls, using only basic ingredients: cucumbers and carrots. I had planned on putting avocado but it wasn't quite ripe. Rob, the kids, and myself took turns rolling the rice on the little mat. We had a great time doing it and we made pigs of ourselves eating it;) Some rolls turned out worse than others, but they tasted good so we ate them. This picture is some of the better rolled ones.

I'm impressed! I think I need to ask miss Jocie to be my personal chef!

Love it! I've been totally into sushi lately! Tell her to invite us over for a sushi party!
