Quilt Rack

This quilt rack was made by my husband. The picture doesn't do it justice. He did a fantastic job on it, making it the old fashion way,no screws just pegs. The quilt on it was made by my MIL who gave it to me last Christmas. I love quilts! One of my projects to learn this winter is to learn to quilt. I plan on taking a class and also will be working on this:

The other goal I have for myself this winter is to start making bread again. I started last year and it fizzled out. It is so much better for you, I just need to try some recipes to find the best one for our family.

I got it!

I've been wanting this cookbook ever since it came out. A very sweet friend of mine bought it as a surprise to me:) I can't wait to cook out of it! Great pictures, with step by step instructions. You will be drooling before you get to the second recipe.

Veterans Day

Yesterday the kids and I went to our local Veterans Day Parade. It was 33 degrees when we got there, so we thought tea and hot chocolate would be nice. Then we headed over to the street where we sat on the curb. The kids and I had a great time. I can't wait

Things are calming down

Leaves
by~Elsie Brady

How silently they tumble down
And come to rest upon the ground
To lay a carpet, rich and rare,
Beneath the trees without a care,
Content to sleep, their work well done,
Colors gleaming in the sun.

At other times, they wildly fly
Until they nearly reach the sky.
Twisting, turning through the air
Till all the trees stand stark and bare.
Exhausted, drop to earth below
To wait, like children, for the snow.

Things are finally slowing down here. I have put the garden to rest for the winter and I am down to milking one goat. We had some friends come and visit for about 5 days and that was a blast. Jacob has 2 more football games in the regular season. Today they won their first game:). AWANA is in full swing, with only the girls participating this year. Jacob is enjoying CAP (Civil Air Patrol) and is finally able to be a member rather than just be an attender. I am looking forward to the cold days of winter where we can turn the pellet stove on and cuddle under blankets and read. This winter I am going to try and only leave the house one day during the work week. It seems all summer long we have been going, going, going.

Bitter Sweet Day

8 Years America was changed forever. 7 Years ago our family was changed forever, with the birth of Jocelyn!!
Happy Birthday Jocelyn!!

Her day includes: No chores! No School and the meals of her choice!

The meals she has chosen are: Donuts~go figure:), Velveeta shells and cheese, and for dinner we are going to go out to the restaurant of her choice. Which happens to be China Buffet.

For her cake she wanted lots of chocolate(go figure again). So I bought a chocolate mix, chocolate frosting, and chocolate dove bars to go on top of the cake. I think we may be sick tomorrow but we will see;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOCELYN #7!!!!
